A big welcome to John Weber, President of Software Toolbox. Software Toolbox is a one stop shop for industrial automation software for all project stages from conception through completion. Today John discussed how his experience as a field engineer and the Director of Marketing with an automation firm allowed him recognize that there was a need in the industry. Thus, Software Toolbox was born!

Fixing the pain

John Weber, President of Software Toolbox

John Weber, President of Software Toolbox

While working with an automation distributor, John encountered a plethora of mid level software solutions that were needed to fully complete the picture. While all of these products existed, the infrastructure to make the purchasing easy from the customer view did not. Software toolbox provides a one stop source for customers looking for innovative software solutions in an organized and customer friendly format with world class support

What’s the return on investment?

We all love to hear success stories, and today John stunned us with one of his own.  You have to take a moment to listen to the interview to hear John describe how a $2,500 software investment helped save a client over $21 million dollars!  That’s right, I’ll leave it to you to work the numbers out, but needless to say what an incredible story of value and precision solutions.

We also want to take a moment thank our guest host today Mr. Bob Lowe who is the Executive Director of the Control System’s Integrator Association (CSIA).  You can learn more about Mr. Lowe and CSIA by clicking here and here.

You have to spend money to make money!!

We always jump at the chance to talk about one of our favorite subjects, CASH!! Today we welcomed Dave Kocarhook, Senior Vice President with Midland American Capital. Midland America provides working capital to businesses based upon leveraging assets.  These assets often include Accounts Receivable or Purchase Orders. I can speak from my personal experience as a financial auditor that for many growing businesses that cash flow can often be a main hindrance to immediate growth. Today Dave was able to clarify just how Midland American is able to assist businesses with resolving their cash flow headaches.

It’s all about communication

While Dave went into detail about Midland’s various services, one question immediately arose.  How will my customers feel about my outsourcing accounts receivable?  Fortunately this is a common concern that Dave handles everyday.  Dave explained to us that it is all about communicating with your clients with the key being able to properly position your actions.  Once again, it is all about open

communication

We really learned a lot about the benefits and services that Midland American offers.  Take a moment to listen to the entire interview and hear Dave explain how Midland American can help your business grow.

Mark Shaddon of Widos

Play

Porsche, Mercedes, Volkswagon, and Audi all utilize Widos plastic welding equipment in the building of their products.  Why Widos you may wonder?  Well, for example in the past three months they have completed the worlds largest field machine for the welding of plastic pipes and the world’s largest fitting machine for plastic pipes.

Creating machines that can weld 100 inch diameter pipes can be difficult to wrap one’s mind around.  Imagine a pipe that you could almost drive your car through, and hopefully you can visualize the size that we are talking about.

Today our guest Mark Shaddon, Vice President of Sales for Widos LLC, explained how Widos is the oldest fusion company for industrial and construction in the world.  It goes without saying that when you’ve been around as long as Widos, established 1946, you’ve had the time to perfect your product.

Oldest in the world, but new to the block

Mark Shaddon

We originally had the pleasure of meeting Mark at the ACE 2012 Trade show this June and were very excited to invite him into the studio.  Mark is responsible for cranking up Widos’ operations within North America and expanding their brand and recognition beyond Europe.  With the US Operations entering its third year, there has been a focus on the development of the sales and distribution networks.

During our discussion today we discussed the importance of a manufacturer’s support to its distribution networks.  We also learned the value of a manufacturer going “lean.”

Is manufacturing making a resurgence in America? You bet it is. And Widos LLC is right in the midst of it!
